Designed for children entering TK through 2nd grade, Young Thinkers dive into a world of discovery through hands-on learning! Each day begins with 90 minutes in a homeroom rotating through interactive centers in language arts, math, science, and social studies.
Students also enjoy three 30-minute specialist classes in music & movement, coding & robotics, and art, sparking creativity and curiosity across multiple disciplines. With a focus on language literacy, number sense, and 21st-century skills, activities are tailored to developmental stages and aligned with Common Core standards.
Through small-group exploration, special visitors, and assemblies, children develop critical thinking, originality, environmental awareness, and self-confidence—building the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Young Thinkers enrolled in the morning program can extend their enrichment by selecting one of the Afternoon Extracurricular classes list below. Students enrolled in the morning and afternoon classes have a supervised lunchtime daily. Please send a sack lunch and drink for each child.
Swimming Lessons
Make a Splash
All Ages
Cool off and build confidence in the pool at Pitzer College! Daily lessons are offered for all skill levels, taught by Red Cross–certified lifeguards and instructors. After swimming, students return to engaging summer activities, keeping the fun going all afternoon long. Perfect for beginners and experienced swimmers alike!
Visual & Performing Arts
Rainforest Adventures
TK - 2nd Grade
Explore the arts in a fun, hands-on way! Each afternoon, students rotate among three specialists to experience music, visual art, and movement/dance. Through stories and creative projects, young artists will bring the rainforest to life with their own imaginative masterpieces. The program culminates in a special performance that will be videotaped and shared with families at Family Night—celebrating creativity, confidence, and fun!

Extended Child Care is available to all students enrolled in the program and is offered on a weekly basis. Care is provided daily from 7:00–8:30 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Morning care offers a calm start to the day with a variety of enjoyable indoor activities. In the afternoon, students rotate through stimulating indoor and outdoor options such as art projects, board games, outdoor play, and sports. Our trained staff encourage socialization, creativity, and plenty of fun as students connect with fellow Project Thinkers in a safe, supportive environment.
